I’m observing this right now in the field of evolutionary psychology as I read “The Righteous Mind” by Jonathan Haidt (who seems to be a very reasonable and clear-thinking person). All of the actual data and observations are equally consistent with a supernatural or biblical framework. All of the connections to evolutionary theory are speculative origin stories.

Ha ha, I loved that book! I like his description of the looks working-class people would give him when he asked them to explain why certain kinds of behavior were wrong.
