Well, clearly, but the question being examined here is why Grandma survives so long past her fertile years that she can help her daughter survive her own childbearing years. This is a mysterious phenom if you are looking at human beings as just one animal among many, whose life is “nasty, brutish, and short.”
This topic is close to my heart, as my series features an energetic grandma who is a rock for her tribe through all three books. Also, you know, as a rapidly aging female in a youth culture …
